QUESTION: ARE LAND NAVIGATION OR DIVING IN THE COURSES?

Answer:   No.  For a few reasons.

1. You do get basic land navigation training here, and a one day course. Land navigation is a perishable skill meaning that once it’s taught to you it needs a lot of practice to maintain the skill.

To make up for this shortfall, we provide "Friendly Agents" for the platoon and the proper training to handle them.  Agents have been used since the dawn of warfare to aid troops unfamiliar with an area. Chieu Hoi’s in Vietnam are an example.  Our Agents are very familiar with the area and will take you where you need to go.

2. Diving has been taught before but a couple problems have come with it.  One,  it’s time consuming and takes days to get guys a basic certification.  Two, many trainees come with the qual already so they just kinda hang out while others go through the training.  And three,  we would have to farm out the training to a dive company that does it and we don’t like doing that.   In the end, we run a very aggressive schedule and can find much better things for you that make more sense for the amount of time we have.
