Thursday: Begin Advanced Training

0800-1800 Combat Shooting/Point Man Course/Extract Fire Teams

1800- Clean Up/Debrief/Free Time

Thursday morning begins with Marksmanship Fundamentals Lecture followed by a Weapons Safety Brief. The class will spend the rest of the day running live fire, combat and point man courses.

At the beginning of the course, trainees will be taught a memory game and have one minute to memorize ten items they are shown. Trainees begin moving down a trail and engaging pop up targets using combat shooting techniques. Observation skills make up much of the course as trainees are taught to use their eyes to spot military type gear not easily seen on the course and call out what they see. At the course conclusion their time is given on the course, target hits added, items seen on the course count as well, and trainees write down as many of the memory items they can recall for an overall score.

Once completed by all class members, trainees will run the course again at a fast pace using shotguns and attempt to remember where all the targets were from the first course. Tough...

Numerous weapons will be used including rifles, shotguns and pistols on various courses as well as optics and scopes. After completion at 1800, the class will patrol to their extraction point. Once back, the class will clean gear, have a good meal around the fire and enjoy free time for the evening.

Friday:

0400-0600 PT Run

0600-0700 Clean Up/Depart For Drop Zone/Skydive

Friday we’re up early for PT and moving to the drop zone for the jumps. Expect a long day getting all the jumps in. The Skydive center allows no exceptions to it’s age requirements. You MUST be 18 to jump and you get one jump that day.

ACCELERATED FREEFALL:

Since 1981, AFF has been the most popular training program for someone who wants to become a licensed skydiver as quickly as possible. The entire program has 25 jumps.

The first level includes the complete ground school. Each additional jump requires about 30-45 minutes of training. Maximum weight is 230 lbs

The first jump is with two USPA certified AFF jumpmasters . On your jump they assist you from aircraft exit to parachute opening. You open your own parachute, then steer your parachute to a soft landing in our wide open, hazard free landing area. You will have radio backup during your parachute descent. Exit altitudes are from 11,000 to 14,000 feet, depending on the aircraft.

Each jump includes a thorough debrief to learn from each experience. Completion of this course provides each new skydiver the skills and knowledge for basic and safe recreational skydiving. After your 25 freefall jumps you will qualify for the USPA "A" License .

The ACCELERATED FREEFALL (AFF) program allows you to experience the sensation of freefall on your very first jump. This training leads to a jump in which you freefall for 60 seconds and then you open your own parachute. Two jumpmasters will guide you through the exit, freefall, deployment and landing processes. Training takes approximately 4-5 hours which includes aircraft procedures, the opening sequence of a parachute, emergency situations, landing techniques, and practical exercises in body positions for exits and freefall.

Once back at the cabin we’ll have a great meal and class graduation party around the bonfire.
